There is no better place to try and beat the heat of summer than in a pool, and Fort Belvoir has four of them to choose from as the days become longer and boredom sets in.
Whether you want to slip down the slide, play a game of water polo, are a serious swimmer or just want to have fun on a float, there is a venue to meet your needs.
Outdoor pools are open seven days a week. Pool #1 located off 18th Street, South Post, Building 259 until July 31, noon to 7 p.m., Aug. 1, noon to 4 p.m., Aug. 2, noon to 6:30 p.m.
Pool #3 on Abbott Rd., North Post is open Mondays to Fridays 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing at 4 p.m. on Aug. 1. From Aug.4-Sept. 3, open 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The Officers' Club Pool is open Monday through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. with lap swimming from 11 a.m. to noon.
Open swimming, lap swimming and water aerobics are available all year at the Benyaurd Indoor Pool.
