Servicemembers who think they have what it takes to be the next "Best Sapper" now have the chance to show the Army what they're made of.
Registration for the Army's fifth annual Best Sapper Competition is open until April for Soldiers serving in the 21-series career field or for any Soldier, Sailor, Marine or Airman who wears a Sapper tab.
The competition is scheduled for April 20 to 22 in the Ozark Mountains near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
Events will be disclosed on the Sapper's Web site, wood.army.mil/sapper, later.
Last year, servicemembers competed in several grueling events, including helocasting; land navigation; mountaineering; U.S. and threat weapons; and what engineers do best, blowing things up.
More information is available from Leonard Wood's Public Affairs Office, 573-563-4145. Competitors can be registered by April 1 via e-mail to sean.m.carroll@conus.army.mil or submit requests to the Web site.
