U.S. Air Force Band
Components of the U.S. Air Force Band have several upcoming concerts scheduled:
• The Air Force Strings, Friday, 8 p.m., Air Force Memorial, One Air Force Memorial Drive, Arlington.
• Max Impact, July 4th celebration, Saturday, 6 p.m., Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, 6th Street and Independence Ava., SW.
• Concert Band and Singing Sergeants, July 4th celebration, Saturday, 8 p.m., Air Force Memorial.
• Max Impact, Tuesday, 8 p.m., U.S. Capitol Steps, West Side, Washington, D.C.
• The Airmen of Note, Wednesday and July 10, 8 p.m., Air Force Memorial;
Concerts are free and tickets are not required. Concerts are subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. More information is available by calling 202-767-5658 or from usafband.af.mil.
Artillery demo
A Civil War Artillery Demonstration is Sunday at Fort Washington Park, 13551 Fort Washington Road, Fort Washington, Md., 20744
Scheduled demonstrations are at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., each with three rounds; and 2 and 3 p.m., each with two rounds, making 13 rounds, in honor of the 13 original Colonies.
Volunteers in Civil War period uniforms will demonstrate and explain procedures used during the muzzle-loading era of artillery.
Park admission is $5 per vehicle. The event is appropriate for all ages.

Free art
The Corcoran Gallery of Art has free Summer Saturdays through Aug. 29. The events include gallery tours, workshops, demonstrations and performances.
Artist and Corcoran graduate Randolph Williams will create chalk drawings of the Corcoran's most popular American paintings on the sidewalk in front of the building.
The Saturdays also include artists' demonstrations and hands-on activities in the atrium.
The gallery is at 500 17th St., NW, Washington, D.C., 20006. Information is available by calling 202-639-1700.
The gallery's hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays.
Jazz art
"The Fine Art of Jazz" photography exhibit runs through Aug. 8 at Alexandria Black History Museum. The exhibition highlights the names and faces synonymous with Kansas City's tradition of American jazz.
The museum is at 902 Wythe St., Alexandria. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and suggested admission is $2.

Summer art show
Oatlands, a National Trust Historic Site, has its 11th annual "Four Seasons of Oatlands" Art Show & Sale, a juried art show. The event is from Sunday to July 26 in the property's carriage house. The event is open to the public Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.
A small donation will be requested.
The show features images from the "Journey Through Hallowed Ground" portion of Route 15, which begins in Gettysburg, Pa., and ends at Monticello in Charlottesville, Va. It also showcases works from the Mosby Heritage Area and Oatlands.
Oatlands again accepted artwork representing the travels of the Eustis family, including to England, Italy and France; New York City and Washington, D.C., and New Mexico.
Oatlands is six miles south of Leesburg on U.S. Route 15. Information is available by calling 703-777-3174 or from oatlands.org.
Car show
The Route 66 PT Cruiser Club hosts the annual PT Cruiser "Car Show for the Troops," to benefit Fisher House, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The car show is scheduled at Locust Shade Park in Triangle, about a mile south of the U.S. Marine Corps Museum on Route 1. Spectators can get in free. Fisher House donations are accepted.
Owners of any type of car are welcome to enter the car show.
People are needed to judge and run events for children, such as mini-golf, paddle boat races, etc., at the event.
