What is your job title?
I am community activities coordinator and the BOSS advisor for the U.S. Army DFMWR at Fort Belvoir.
How long have you been at Belvoir?
I've been working here since the end of January.
Where are you originally from?
I'm a native of Berkley, Mich. That's about ten minutes from Detroit. I'm currently living in Alexandria.
Have you ever served in the military?
I don't have any prior military experience, but I was working at Fort Knox, Ky., before coming here. While there, I learned a lot and developed myself through an MWR management training program.
What are some of your professional goals?
I would like to develop a recreation delivery system, which would consist of a team of MWR employees working together at different facilities. It would help enhance coordination. I'm also working on the 2009 Army Festival of the Arts and Recreation Program Events Competition. We're teaming up with a staff at Fort Myer and doing this variety show, which will include a parade and tie into the Year of the NCO.
What are some of your hobbies?
I like playing hockey and would like to join a league somewhere. I also love music and NASCAR. My favorite driver is Carl Edwards.
What is your best Belvoir memory?
It didn't really happen here, but it was shortly after I arrived at Belvoir. I was allowed to participate in training at Penn State for an inclusive recreation program for Wounded Warriors. That was very interesting and will benefit me in the long run.
