• What do you do at Fort Belvoir?
I am the human resources specialist for the Soldier and Family Assistance Center.
• Where are you originally from?
Chattanooga, Tenn.
• How long have you been at Belvoir?
I retired from active-duty here in 2006 and got my current position in 2007.
• What are some of your job responsibilities?
We work directly with the Warrior in Transition Unit. I am the one who puts them in the system when they in-process. Anything that deals with their orders, I clarify for them. Any other HR responsibilities fall to me.
• Have you ever served in the military?
I served 21 years on active-duty and retired from the 249th Engineer Battalion.
• What do you enjoy most about your job?
Definitely working with the Soldiers. I really enjoy working with them and have always been a Soldier's Soldier.
• What are some of your hobbies?
I love to fish. That is my main hobby. I also like to stay in shape. Between working out and going fishing on the weekends and sometimes during the week, I am happy.
• What do you like most about Belvoir?
It is, more or less, the community. It's a mixture of Soldiers and civilians. You work just as much with civilians as you do Soldiers. With the WTU, we work just as much with the family members as we do the Soldiers. I really enjoy that aspect.
