Fort Belvoir celebrated the 235th Birthday of the Army and the 233rd anniversary of Flag Day on Abbot Hall's front lawn Monday with music, speeches, color guards from the ages, historical vehicles including a Sherman tank and a 12th Aviation Battalion Black Hawk flyover.

Installation Commander Col. Jerry Blixt called on the Soldiers, employees, family members and all those attending to remember the troops here and the ones who are deployed.

After a group photo was taken on the steps, a birthday cake, cupcakes, watermelon and refreshments capped off the event.
