It's Fall Back Time
Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday morning at 2 a.m. Be sure to turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
Daylight Saving Time will begin again on March 11, 2012.
Route 1 funding
Fort Belvoir is one of four installations to receive approval for funding of road improvement projects, specifically, to receive $180 million for Route 1 widening from Telegraph Road to Mount Vernon Memorial Highway. The funds will be distributed by the Office of Economic Adjustment once the applicants provide completed applications, including comprehensive plans and environmental information pertaining to the selected projects.
Trick or Treat 4 Troops
Anyone can join forces with Treats 4 Our Troops and Belvoir Enlisted Spouses Club, for the 4th Annual surplus Halloween candy and recycled magazine collection for troops and wounded warriors recovering at local hospitals. Donate your extra candy and magazines to support our troops.
The BESC will be collecting until Nov. 7.

National American Indian Observance
Celebrate National American Indian Observance month with the Fort Belvoir, United States Army Intelligence and Security Command, and Operational Support Airlift Agency Equal Opportunity Offices 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Belvoir Wood Theater.
The observance will feature Patricia Mills, founder and director of Eagles Nest Educational Foundation. She is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nations Tribe in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and will be accompanied with cultural dancers, cultural displays, a flutist, a wolf dancer and a large tipi will be on display.
Additionally, the Fort Belvoir Historian Gus Person will provide a 10 minute historical, educational presentation on Native Americans and their affiliation with Fort Belvoir. This free event will be catered by Barrett's of Alexandria.
