Survivor Outreach Services events

• SOS Financial Class "everything you needed to know ....but were afraid to ask" is Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Army Community Service Bldg. 200. This event is open to Survivor Families and friends.

• SOS Life in Balanced: Relaxation and Stress Relief is Feb. 24 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Army Community Service Bldg. 200. This class is open only to survivors of fallen Soldiers.
As stress levels build throughout the day, your body does not have a chance to relax and it remains in a state of heightened alert taking a toll on your physical, emotional and mental health. In some cases, stress develops into chronic stress causing further damage. If you suffer from stress in your life, taking stress management classes teaches you the skills you need to live a life that is happier and healthier. Child care is provided with pre-registration. Bridal Fair
The Fort Belvoir Officers' Club hosts its annual Belvoir Bridal Fair, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be more than 50 vendors, door prizes and giveaways. For more information, call (703) 780-0930, Ext. 608.
Villages at Belvoir information fairs
The Villages at Belvoir is hosting information fairs in February. Residents can come to their Neighborhood Centers to meet their Community Management Team and learn more about topics such as maintenance procedures, utilities, safety, history of privatized housing and resident relations. Pizza and refreshments will be provided. Information fairs are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Belvoir Officers' Spouses' Club welfare funds request program
The Belvoir Officers' Spouses' Club under its welfare funds request program provides funds to deserving programs/organizations who work toward the betterment of the Fort Belvoir military community.

Annual Weingarten Notice to all bargaining unit employees

Mobilization and Deployment Readiness workshops
• Training is every second Monday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon. It provides Soldiers and Families an understanding of the pre-deployment process, and discusses the financial, legal, medical and practical preparation. Pre-Deployment checklists are provided. Resources and special programs are explained.
• Reintegration & Reset Training is every third Monday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This workshop will teach coping strategies and techniques for single or married Soldier, a single-parent Soldier, a deployed civilian, a spouse or a child facing stress with regard to reunion.
• Ready 4 Reunion Spouse & Family Workshop is every third Monday of the month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Families of returning service members/civilians will learn what expect after their loved one comes home from a combat zone and what is "typical" and when should they become concerned.

Boater education
Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., all require boating education. The requirements are based on age and each jurisdiction has its own requirements.
A class which meets the boating education requirements of all states is offered by Flotilla 25-8 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 10.
The class meets at the Mount Vernon Knights of Columbus Hall at 8592 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309.
Students receive a manual, a certificate and card showing class completion and a free membership to BoatUS. In addition, an inflatable life jacket will given away to the students in a drawing held during the class.
The cost is $40 per student ($60 if a couple shares the manual).
