Newcomers’ Orientation
Army Community Service hosts a Newcomers’ Orientation Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the ACS Building, 9800 Belvoir, Bldg 200.  Learn what Fort Belvoir has to offer. No registration required and children are welcome.  Call (703) 805-4590 for more information.

Tax Center volunteers needed
The Fort Belvoir Tax Center is looking for volunteers interested in working in the tax center through April 2012. Volunteers will assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns for Active Duty servicemembers, retirees and their Families.

Receptionists willing to schedule appointments, in-process clients and answer basic questions are also needed.  If interested, contact Yosefi Seltzer at yosefi.seltzer@ us.army.mil.

Training begins in early January.

Trivia Night
Play STUMP Trivia at the Community Center Lounge Jan. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free. Prizes are available for participants in a variety of categories. Call (703) 805-3714 for more information.

Job fairs
Attend the job fairs at Army Community Service, Bldg. 200 on Belvoir Road, Jan. 18 and Feb. 15. Child, Youth School Services is recruiting for their Child and Youth Programs Assistants, CY-1702-01 and CY-1702-02. The job fairs are from 9 a.m. to noon. Hired! Apprenticeship Program for Teens
Teens ages 15-18 who are registered with the Child, Youth and School Services Youth Center can obtain work experience and learn about the job search process while completing a 12-week placement on Fort Belvoir. Upon completion, apprentices receive a cash award. Applications are currently being accepted for the spring and summer Terms.

Comedy Show and dinner at the Officers’ Club
Enjoy a night out with comedian Dave Goldstein. The show and buffet dinner are Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Officers’ Club.

The cost of $35 includes dinner and the show.

Dueling Pianos
The Dueling Pianos group performs Jan. 28, playing hit songs from every genre.

Cash bar provided for the evening and hors d’oeuvres served 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The show is open to adults 18 and older, but must be 21 to drink.
