Despite having a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the third, the Belvoir Red Birds dropped their first game of the fall season to the Yankees 8-5 Sept. 18.
The Yankees unloaded in the fourth to take the lead, scoring five runs on scattered hits to go up 6-4.
The Yankees added two more in the bottom of the fifth, while holding the Red Birds scoreless.
Joe Trio, Govinda Sawyack and Nick Trio had the RBIs for the Birds, who scored one more in the sixth, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Yanks.
The Red Birds bounced back Sept. 22, defeating the Red Sox 9-1.
The Sox scored their lone run in the first inning on Red Bird errors, but the Red Birds made up for their mistakes with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
With successive walks loading the bases, Sawyack smashed a bases-clearing double and subsequently scored on a single by Josh Richards.
The Birds' pitching staff surrendered only two hits in the game, protecting their offense, which was scoreless in the second and third innings.
The fourth inning saw four more runs from the Birds, on hits by Bryan Blackmon and Jason Richards.
Nick Trio tripled in the fifth and was driven in on a shot to right by Alex Kellogg. The Sox had one base runner in the sixth but was erased when he was thrown out on an attempted steal.
The Red Birds earned their second win in as many games with the Red Sox Sept. 26, winning 11-3.
With the Birds leading off in the first, they scored three on back-to-back singles by twins Nick and Joe Trio.
In the bottom of the second, the Sox scored one, without recording a hit.
In the top of the third, the Birds brought four runs across without a hit, while the Red Sox added one more in their third.
Joe Trio walked to lead off the fourth and scored on a triple by Sawyack. Josh Richards knocked home Sawyack, then he and Jason Richards crossed the plate on Red Sox errors.
In the top of the fourth, with one out, the Birds loaded the bases on walks, but the Sox were unable to produce a run as Jason Richards struck out the final two batters swinging.
The Red Birds' play continues Saturday at the Woodlawn Field complex. In addition to the Red Birds play, a baseball camp is being conducted for children ages 7-10, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Belvoir's field complex at 18th Street and Belvoir Road.
