Graves Fitness Center will host a Health and Fitness Expo Friday, August 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Around 25 vendors will be participating and handing out information to guests, including the American Red Cross, U.S.O., Fort Belvoir's B.O.S.S. program, DeWitt Army Community Hospital and the installation's Youth Sports and Outdoor Recreation programs.
Sheila Edwards, sports director for Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, said representatives from DeWitt will be conducting free health screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose.
Alicia Balanag, a recreation specialist at Graves, said a limited number of T-shirts will handed out to guests who complete a survey on one of the featured health stations. She said the expo will also feature 20-minute demonstrations of different aerobic classes. These include pilates, rep fusion, zumba, indoor cycling, stepping and its boot camp express.
Edwards said the event is open to everyone and that any employee interested in attending should get permission from their supervisor for time off. Light refreshments and door prizes will also be available. For more information, call 806-5368.
