CITF and ADF made easy work of their competition Monday night at the North Post baseball field, with CITF knocking off MIRC, 11-4 and ADF earning a shutout on PEO, 29-0.

CITF came out firing quickly on both sides of the ball, racking up eight runs over the first four innings and holding MIRC to only two runs, both of which came in the fourth inning.

The points slowed for CITF in the fifth inning when the team went three up, three down for no runs. MIRC fared no better, scoring no points and tallying a strange out when a runner was caught between first and second base and was subsequently thrown out at first for getting back to the bag a step too slowly.

After an out at the top of the sixth, a CITF batter doubled and later scored on a tag up. The ninth point set the stage for three more runs before the third out finally came.

MIRC continued its fight back into the game when a batter netted a triple to score a runner. Another runner crossed the plate before the CITF pitcher ended MIRC's run when he caught a line drive that was hammered directly at him.

After a scoreless CITF seventh inning, MIRC has plenty of work to make up the scoring difference, but the team went scoreless as well to give CITF the win.

CITF improved to 6-2 on the season, while MIRC fell to 4-4.

In the second game of the evening, PEO kicked off the top of the first inning with three hits, but no runners crossed the plate.

ADF had better luck at bat. The first batter drove a double into the outfield, which was followed by an in-field homer for two quick runs. By the time the third out was called, ADF had brought in four more runs for a 6-0 advantage over PEO.

The top of the second inning saw PEO go three up, three down.

Once again, the bats favored ADF, as the team notched an 11-run inning for a 17-0 lead.

PEO struggled for the remainder of the game, tallying several hits over the next three innings but unable to convert them into runs. ADF, on the other hand, continued its winning ways with eight runs in the third inning and four at the bottom of the fourth.

The win gave ADF an even record at 3-3. PEO continues to struggle at 1-6.
