AT&T National tickets
The Belvoir Community Center has 1,450 free military tickets for the AT&T Golf Tournament June 29 to July 4 in Philadelphia.

Tickets are available to all DoD personnel and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Wilderness Challenge 2010
Fort Belvoir is currently seeking a female to join its team to compete in the Wilderness Challenge Oct. 7 to 9 in Fayetteville, W.Va. The event includes a whitewater raft race, an 8K run, a mountain bike race, a mountain hike race and a Duckie race.

Registration is open to active duty military. Teams must consist of a captain and three supporting members, one of whom must be female.

Intramural sports tournaments
The intramural bowling championship begins with qualifying rounds July 12 and 19 and the tournament July 26. An organizational meeting is at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Graves Fitness Center.

Active duty, DoD civilians, family members of active duty ages 18 and up attached or assigned to Fort Belvoir are eligible.

The intramural golf championship begins with qualifiers at 2 p.m. July 8 and Aug. 10. The championship is at 2 p.m. Sept. 2.

An organizational meeting is at 1 p.m. June 20 at the Fort Belvoir Golf Course.

Cardboard regatta
The cardboard regatta is at 9 a.m. July 24. A design meeting is at noon June 26. The event offers adult and child divisions and three award categories.

Nature walks
Outdoor Recreation hosts nature walks along the Accotink Bay Wildlife Refuge once a month through September. Walkers will have the opportunity to discover Belvoir's 1,315 acres of hardwood forest and marshland.

Hikes offer valuable earth-conscious insights from the Environmental Education Center.

Dates are June 27, July 25, Aug. 22 and Sept. 26.

Walkers receive a pocket guide. Reservations limited to first 20 people.

Nationals baseball games
Outdoor Recreation hosts trips to see the Washington Nationals this summer. Sunday's trip leaves at 10 a.m. for a 1:35 p.m. start time against the Chicago White Sox, and the July 11 trip leaves at 10 a.m. for a 1:35 p.m. start time against the San Francisco Giants.

Cost is $21 and includes ticket, transportation and parking.

Pool openings
The Officer's Club, Benyaurd Indoor Pool and North Post Pool #3 are now open for the summer season. South Post Pool #1 opens Saturday.

Operation WOW!
The Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services has developed Operation WOW! for servicemembers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan who want to participate in physical activities in a community setting.

The program provides a voucher to servicemembers to obtain a Fairfax County Park Authority pass for 25 visits to focus on physical fitness, or apply to registration fees to participate in adult athletic teams in the county.

Physical activity exploration classes are ongoing and include kayaking and canoeing, golf, bowling, tai chi and more.

Youth tennis block party
A youth tennis block party is from 10 a.m. to noon June 26 at the South Post tennis courts.

Children can experience QuickStart tennis, an exciting play format to introduce children to the sport.

Group exercise classes
Group exercise classes are available through July 2 at Graves Fitness Center. Classes include spin, step and sculpt, yoga and more.

Cost is $64 for all classes in 10-week period. A five-week payment session is available for $32 after May 29. Drop-in fee is $5 per class. Registration and payments accepted at Graves or the Body Shop.

Family campout
Outdoor Recreation hosts overnight family campouts June 26 and 27. Campers can fish, kayak and canoe, hike along the Accotink Bay and roast s'mores over a campfire.

Campers should bring tent, sleeping bag, camping supplies, food and water. Outdoor Recreation offers these items for rent as well.

Cost is $5 for tent space, fishing equipment and bait, scavenger hunt, sporting equipment and S'mores.

Boater education
Flotilla 25-8 of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary offers a boating education course from 6 to 8 p.m. July 12 to 15 at the West Marine Store, 601 S. Patrick St. in Alexandria.

D.C., Maryland and Virginia impose fines against boat operators who have no evidence of taking a boating safety class are welcome. The course meets the boating education requirements for all states.
Students receive a manual, certificate and card showing class completion.

Cost is $40 per student, or $60 if two people share a manual.

Country-western dance
The Northern Virginia Country Western Dance Association hosts its smoke-free, alcohol-free dance Saturday at Luther Jackson Middle School in Falls Church.

There will be lessons in the Refried Dreams line dance, the Country Two-Step and the Blue Rose couples specialty dance between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Open dancing is from 8:30 to 11 p.m. and includes two-step, waltz, line, swing, cha cha and other specialty dances.

Couples and singles are welcome.

Cost is $10 for NVCWDA or PSDC members, $12 for non-members and $5 for ages 18 and under accompanied by paying adult.

Senior bowling league
The senior/retirees bowling league has openings at the Bowling Center.

Bowlers meet at 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Fridays. Bowlers must be 50 years or older and ladies are welcome. $13 each time you bowl.

Adult recreational volleyball
Anyone over the age of 21 years is welcome to play adult recreational volleyball every Sunday 3 to 6 p.m. on the permanent grass courts near Parade Field No. 2 near Wells Field House.
