Popular event affected by unfortunate circumstances
The Fort Belvoir Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation kicked off its much anticipated the 2012 Trout Fest event on Saturday. Early during the event, staff observed that the trout were not active and it was determined, after investigation and to our dismay, that the fish were no longer viable. The DFMWR staff immediately halted the event and began issuing refunds at the Fort Belvoir Community Center to our customers.
Despite lack of fish caught, one Family enjoys bonding

Stand To!: National Sexual Assault Awareness Month
National Sexual Assault Awareness Month is an annual campaign to raise public awareness and educate communities on the prevention of sexual violence. As a public health, human rights and social justice issue, sexual violence affects many and has secondary and tertiary effects on society. During the month of April, state, territory, tribal and community-based organizations, rape crisis centers, government agencies, businesses and campuses recognize SAAM through planned events and activities to reinforce prevention efforts.
Drinking and driving: It's not a new problem
Drunken driving actually began before the invention of cars. As soon as a person climbed onto the back of another animal, there must have been drunken horse, camel and elephant riders. Drinking played a large role in going to sea also.
